Hanayama Top 10 (9 Cast Star)

I must apologize for the long wait between posts. I am resuming the Top 10 countdown with this, the Cast Star at 9.

This is a very tactile design with the object being to separate the serpent and the star as shown in the picture. The star has 6 points of differing sizes (paying close attention to this will help to solve it!). The brass/copper look is one which I like and almost adds a timeless quality to the puzzle and is similar to the Cast Flag.

The difficulty is rated towards the lower end, and is not to hard if a logical approach is taken. The reason for 9th place in this countdown is partly down to simplicity. I love puzzles which are simplistic as they are more pleasing to solve for me. The weight is good and it was bigger than I had expected. I also found myself sitting with this puzzle using it almost as a "stress ball" and was repeatedly fiddling with it without realizing.

For a puzzle with a simple concept, the Cast Star offers great value and much pleasure.
